For an exercise program developed by a WWE wrestler and Champion bodybuilder whose wrestling moniker ‘The Doctor of Thuganomics,’ once upon a time, 10 Weeks BodyChange seems shockingly gentle: Workout 2 times a week in a customized 20-min period with John as your online motivation coach, follow his eating plan, and lose pounds, he claims (his dad, for example, lost close to 50 pounds in the program).
Cena, 36, chatted with USAToday and explained why he’s so excited about 10 Weeks BodyChange, his favorite healthy foods, and why his younger fans mean so much to him.
Who can benefit from the program?
“It’s geared toward everyone…Originally, I developed the program around my father because my father is 70 years old, he’s grossly overweight, has chronic asthma and mobility problems. So I kind of developed a protocol that…if he could do it, anyone could do it. My 70 year-old dad lost 50 pounds in 10 weeks, and I knew I was onto something. And then my brother’s wife, my sister-in-law, just gave birth to a beautiful baby girl. She’s in her early 30s and she wanted to lose some extra baby weight. She’s been active before and needed to remain active…she lost a ton of baby weight…And then on the other end of the spectrum, [there’s] myself as an elite strength athlete. Oftentimes you try to diet and lose weight, and you see a coinciding loss of strength. But with this nutrition concept, not only do I lose weight and I feel leaner and look better, but I’m also stronger.”
