The paleo diet, which instructs its adherents to “eat like a caveman,” is catching on with people, some of whom find the diet helps with their intense exercise regimens and others who say it fits their lifestyle.
The premise of paleo is simple — go back to eating more like our ancestors did before newfangled inventions like agriculture and processed foods. That means eating more grass-fed meat, fish and seafood, fruits and vegetables, eggs, nuts and seeds and oils such as olive, walnut and coconut. Foods to avoid include cereal grains, legumes, dairy, refined sugar, potatoes, processed foods, salt and refined vegetables oils.
